Hastings Mayday Run 2010

Today I had the phone call to ask me to do the parking for them as normal but I said no.  As he was the police planning officer who has dealt with us for many years he asked why and I explained no real thanks, loss of bmf signs made specially for event difficulty in getting any help, bla de blaa.

He said he would tell his bosses and would suggest a remuneration package for bmf if it could be obtained as he did not see how they could cope without us.

It took about 10 minutes to get a call back saying he would forward a name via eMail who would sort something out for bmf for helping.  It is a good figure but I would like to know if it goes to the bmf Foundation charity or bmfinkent club account.

If you answer I will assume you are helping on the day.

Please add your names to the list I need at least 10 people would be good and more would make it so much easier.  Thank you in advance.

I should be there, with the stand, and Ted may do the usual alternative run if required,
(Graham will be in Benedorm or some such place)
Now that son-in-law has passed his test I may see if they'd like to come along, but that very much depends on daughter's dislocated shoulder!!

Hi Tony

I'm not due back from Spain until 2nd and after 2 weeks solid riding doubt I'd be up to it, and Les would have something to say about me buggering off again.  However, if the trip doesn't happen due to lack of bookings I may be able to commit unless they send me somewhere else.

Will let you know
Is it free? I'll have two then

Was a nice day and the weather stayed dryish at least.

Thanks for finding the way home from the A21 Steve, it was really useful to just tag on the back.

A motorcylcist has died after a collision near Tonbridge.

The rider, from the Tonbridge area, was riding a Triumph motorcycle on Three Elm Lane, Golden Green, near Tonbridge, when he collided with a white Vauxhall Movano van.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s family has been told.  No further details are being released at this time.

The collision took place at about 8.15 pm on Monday, May 3. The road was closed while emergency services, including members of Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, dealt with the incident and reopened around 4.45am.

Police are also appealing for help after an incident on the northbound A21 between Tonbridge and Morleys roundabout at about 4.20pm on Monday, May 3.

Six vehicles, four motorcycles, a blue Citroen Saxo and a black Vauxhall Astra, were involved in a collision.

One motorcyclist suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital.

His pillion passenger suffered serious injuries and she was taken by air ambulance to hospital in London where her condition today is said to be serious.
