Well most of you know that I went to 7 different european countries this year in June but you don't know the details so here goes.
Started off with Sharon, Simon and three other bikers and two peeple in a car (on a biking trip, yes). I thought we were going to Lake Como via Austria, over the Grossglockner pass and stay there making day trips but I was wrong. Simon was our leader, and what a gr8 leader he is, Doesn't use sat nav, just a map and brill sense of direction. Never uses motorways and mostly no a roads. We went Through Germany, over the Alps through to Italy, when we got to Lake Como I opted to stay there for 3 days as the others went on.  I spent a day on boats going round lake Maggiori seeing al the islands, Then I rode on to Venice. the others got there the same time as me having stayed over at Lake Garda. Unbeknown to us the boat race was on the following day so we again found it difficult to find anywhere to stay, but eventually I found a lovely place with a boat stop right outside my front door.
Some of us met up for the race and spent the day together then I stayed another two days while they went on. I rode to Austria the next day and booked into a hotel near the foot of the Grossglockner and who should I bump into but the other bikers. They were in the campsite of course. They had done the pass that day so the next day I went on over the pass and they went back toward Italy. The pass was beautiful and so is Austria. I can't believe the scenery. I love mountains and I fealt as though I was almost on the top of the world. I travelled through the Ziller valley, Innesbrook and some lovely little villages where I spent a few days and met other bikers who told me about the Black Forest so I went on to there. I visited some Schlosses, one of them being The most beautiful palace I had ever seen. Linderhoff Palace. Owned by a Bavarian Baron and built like a small version of the Palace of Versais (can't spell that, but you know what I mean). Never seen so much gold and silver and Misen porcelain and crystal in one place
Then on to Luxembourg in the rain. Stayed in a lovely place in Vianden where there is another castle. From there I went to Germany near the Nurburg ring and stayed in a bikers B&B run by a guy called Brendan who had been the record holder for the fastest ride round the Ring. Well I wanted to ride the ring but A. it was closed, and B. I didn't have enough energy to do it justice anyway so I went home through Belgium and France and was thoroughly worn out by the end of it all, but thrilled that I had done it and most of it on my own.
It's a womans perogative!

Wow

That was a good long time visiting what sounds like some lovely places.
All places I have heard of but never been. Maybe, one day.

My hols for next year are already planned.  Yorkshire and Cornwall.
There is no such thing as "can't" you can if you want to.
